Lydia Rae Levinson Joins The HC as Chief Development Officer
March 5, 2025
We are excited to announce that Lydia Rae Levinson has joined The Zekelman Holocaust Center (The HC) as our Chief Development Officer. A seasoned leader, Lydia will steer stewardship and development activities in alignment with our organizational objectives and guide our dynamic team in raising the funds that facilitate our important work.
“Meeting the increasing demand for Holocaust education requires strong, sustainable funding,” said Rabbi Eli Mayerfeld, CEO. “Lydia will manage our development department and lead our advancement efforts, securing resources to ensure this vital work continues for generations. We invite our community to welcome her and support our mission.”
Lydia’s effective impact has been felt in Detroit in significant ways. Most recently, she served as Deputy Chief Development Officer for the City of Detroit. She was a leader on the team that developed and stewarded a portfolio of over $3 billion in public and private funding to support initiatives across more than 30 departments and agencies. This includes raising $270.5 million towards a goal of $350 million for the Unified Greenway Campaign to complete the 27.5-mile Joe Louis Greenway.
Previously, Lydia was the Director of Grants and Program Support for Eastern Market Partnership, the nonprofit organization that stewards Eastern Market. She developed and managed a portfolio of more than 50 government, philanthropic, and corporate grants there.
With her passion for community engagement and building strategic partnerships, Lydia will build upon her past successes to sustain The HC and its mission for years to come.
