The Boxcar

The Henrietta and Alvin Weisberg Gallery tells the horrors of deportation by rail to the ghettos, death camps, and concentration camps of Europe. The centerpiece is a Holocaust-era boxcar, much like the ones used by the Nazis at the time to transport Jews and other “undesirables” and implement the Final Solution.

In addition to the boxcar, the gallery features an installation where you can hear Henrietta tell the story of her family’s heartwrenching journey on a deportation train.
