Symphony of the Holocaust: Film Screening and Talkback
January 9 at 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Holocaust survivor and violin prodigy Shony Alex Braun drew upon his experiences in the Nazi death camps to compose a musical tribute to the memory of the millions of Jews murdered during World War II. Join us at The HC for a screening of Symphony of the Holocaust, a documentary about Shony’s life and his family’s journey to fulfill his final wish. This is a Sunn Stream “Original” documentary. Run time 71 minutes.
Opening remarks will be given by Dan Yessian, Founder of Yessian Music. After the screening, join us for a Q&A with Greg DeHart, Dinah Braun Griffin and Erik Ghukasyan, led by Ohad Wilner. Greg is an Emmy Award-winning showrunner, director, producer, and writer whose work has earned multiple prestigious awards and has aired on major networks and streaming platforms. Dinah is the daughter of Holocaust survivor Shony Alex Braun, who was a violin prodigy and composer of “The Symphony of the Holocaust.” Erik Ghukasyan is the featured violinist who fulfilled Shony’s final wish and performed Symphony of the Holocaust at Auschwitz. A dessert reception will follow.
