Sparks of Glory: A Tribute to Composer Paul Schoenfeld

This event is off-site and will take place at Oakland University’s Varner Recital Hall located at 371 Varner Drive, Rochester, Michigan.
Hear composer Paul Schoenfeld’s tribute to courageous Holocaust defiance, based on four true stories and their accounts of the heroic deeds of people too modest to recognize their own heroism. The piece is written for violin, clarinet, cello, and piano. The piece will be performed by Oakland School of Music, Theatre, and Dance faculty and members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra with narration and vocals by Cantor Daniel Gross of Adat Shalom.
Performers include Tian Tian, Elizabeth Rowin, Una O’Riordan, and Ralph Skian. Cantor Gross will also perform several Holocaust-themed selections.
Sponsored by the Cis Maisel Center for Judaic Studies and Community Engagement, Oakland University School of Music, Theatre and Dance. A reception with light refreshments will follow the event.
