VILNA: A RESISTANCE STORY

March 22 at 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM

Exclusive Free Event for Members

“Vilna: A Resistance Story” is a new musical that brings to life the extraordinary true story of Vitka Kempner, a 19-year-old Jewish woman who helped inspire the Jewish resistance movement in the Vilna Ghetto during the Holocaust. After the Nazis invade Poland, a fierce and fearless Vitka escapes to the free-spirited city of Vilna, Lithuania, where she joins a group of young artists and galvanizes them to take a stand against Nazi oppression. Vilna tells a long-overlooked story that has been praised as so important and relevant today.

Featuring a vibrant, klezmer-influenced pop score by composer and lyricist Kevin Cloud, Vilna: A Resistance Story includes songs described as “melodic and memorable—ranging from elegiac and melancholy to stirring and triumphant.” Hear the opening song: Vilna, My Vilna.

The salon performance will be followed by a Q&A and dessert reception.
