LEARN TO LEAD TRAINING PROGRAM

Ideal candidates for this program are early or mid-career professionals in the Holocaust and genocide field seeking to augment their knowledge base, or academics with limited business experience who plan on moving into museum or center administration

Cohort participants will be expected to have either previously attended or are currently attending a nonprofit management course and have a basic knowledge of finance, marketing and management skills.

Nonprofit management courses are offered at many colleges and universities around the country, including Northwestern University, New York University, Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Cornell, Babson College, University of Colorado, University of Washington, and many others.

• Small Cohorts
• Structure: in-person and synchronous online for domestic participants, all-online structure for internationally-based professionals.
• Conference Details: For domestic participants, the program begins in person at the NYC AHO conference with 6 hours of educational modules. Then, the cohort meets once a month on Zoom. The conclusion of the program occurs at the AHO conference in person. Total of 18 hours. For international participants, the in-person modules will be amended to an online format.
• Instruction: Combination of hands-on activities and guest lectures by key leaders who are currently shaping Holocaust memory and education.
• Educational Materials: will include readings and videos of educators currently working in the field
• Project Requirement

The cost of this program is $500 per participant. Scholarships may be available. Enrollment will be selective, and the cohort size will be limited to maximize participant engagement.

• What kind of manager are you?
• How to craft a compelling mission statement
• Selecting an exhibition
• Maximizing Board member interactions

• Fill the Pipeline: There are hundreds of Holocaust Centers and Museums around the world and no practical training program solely devoted to Holocaust nonprofits.
• Holocaust Nonprofits Are Unique: In addition to running a nonprofit, Holocaust-centric organizations have special emotional and spiritual demands.
• Build Lasting Peer Relationships: Learning in a cohort builds future relationships and interconnectedness for future leaders in the field.
