32nd Anniversary Dinner
Sunday, October 30 at 5:30 pm
We are excited to announce our 32nd Anniversary Dinner Speaker: Dr. Deborah Lipstadt! Join us for an elegant evening on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 5:30 pm at Congregation Shaarey Zedek (map) featuring a strolling buffet and an inspiring presentation about Lipstadt's historic legal battle against Holocaust denial and her upcoming Hollywood movie about it, Denial.
That evening, we will honor Rozie and Bernie Friedman. U.S. District Judge Bernard A. Friedman is widely admired as a guardian of justice and a protector of human rights. His ruling that Michigan’s ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court, extending marriage rights to all who wish to marry. Rozanne Friedman is a caring and skilled psychotherapist, who has helped many people gain tools to cope with life’s challenges. We recognize these community leaders for their dedication to our shared ideals of standing up for equality and fighting against oppression.
